ALFALFA (ALFAALFA)

Alfalfa or
Alfa Alfa is a food supplement for all those subjects fed with home-made or raw
diets such as Barf, but not only excellent supplement also for dogs or cats
that eat kibble or wet to be supplemented with a drizzle of oil. Alfalfa is
rich in nutrients and contains significant quantities of proteins. It is also
one of the richest sources of vitamins and trace elements such as calcium,
magnesium, potassium, beta-carotene, vitamins A, B12, C, D, E and K. It also
has a high content of chlorophyll which is an excellent antioxidant
strengthening the immune system and fighting oxidative stress (occurs when the
quantity of free radicals is in excess compared to the neutralizing capacity of
the cell) can promote oxygenation and purification of the blood. Its
nutritional value makes alfalfa a commonly used food herb for many animals. With
its high protein content, it is an effective tonic to take in case of
tiredness, asthenia, convalescence and stimulates the appetite.

It acts on
the gastrointestinal system, facilitating digestion, counteracting gastritis
and soothing ulcers. The saponins present in alfalfa help in the absorption of
fat-soluble vitamins.

Isoflavones
and coumestans are compounds present that can have a regulating action on the
level of estrogen in the body, useful in some situations

Alfalfa is
also used in case of renal failure in dogs and cats.

Dosage: 1
teaspoon for a 30 kg dog. In case of known pathologies, consult your
veterinarian.
