Carob is the fruit of the evergreen carob tree, rich in fiber they have astringent and anti-hemorrhagic properties. It is a slimming, astringent, anti-haemorrhagic, antacid, gastric antisecretory food.
In nature, Carob contains 10% water, 8.1% protein, 34% sugars, 31% fats, the minerals present potassium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, selenium and iron. There are also B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12), vitamin C, vitamin E, K and J and dietary folate and is gluten-free.
Carob is indicated in case of diarrhea, gastritis, gastrointestinal infections, acidity, obesity and irritable bowel.
